Structural double-sided adhesive for high temperature processes

3M VHB GPH-110GF is a 1.1 mm gray double-sided adhesive tape made up of a multipurpose acrylic adhesive and a closed cell conformable acrylic foam core. The viscoelastic structure distributes stresses along the joint and compensates for small irregularities between the materials, allowing continuous fixings to be created without holes, rivets or welding when the project allows it.

Distinctive materials and performances

The GPH family is developed for high and medium surface energy substrates, including metals, many technical plastics and compatible painted surfaces. It is indicated in cycles in which assembly is performed before powder or liquid painting. The 3M source reports resistance up to 149°C for extended use within a week and up to 230°C for short exposures within four hours; these values do not replace the validation of the real joint.

Preparation and verification of the project

Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of grease; application pressure, adhesive area, temperature, static and dynamic load influence performance. Paints, plastics and surface treatments must be tested on the actual component. DPM Tapes can support format selection and sampling before production.
