Pretreatment for bonding 3M VHB
3M VHB Water-Based Promoter UV is a water-based promoter developed to increase adhesion and accelerate the bonding construction of the tapes 3M VHB on medium and high surface energy materials.
Process control
The white formulation integrates a visible indicator with UV light, useful to control the treated area. The datasheet 3M report 10,5% Of solids, viscosity not exceeding 30 mPa·s at 23 °C and flash point greater than 65 °C; are typical values, not specific acceptance values.
Preparation and application
The surface shall be clean, dry and free of contaminants. Apply a thin and uniform layer with a cloth that does not release fiber and let dry completely before the tape; at room temperature a thin layer normally dries within 10 minutes. Always check compatibility on real material and consult TDS and SDS.
